In this session, we move into the operational core of inspection bodies by exploring the first part of Clause 7, which focuses on key inspection processes. The discussion will cover the review of requests, tenders and contracts, inspection methods and procedures, handling of items, and inspection records.
We will unpack how inspection bodies can ensure that requirements are clearly defined and agreed upon before inspections commence, reducing the risk of misunderstandings and ensuring alignment with client expectations. The importance of using standardized and well-defined inspection methods will be emphasized, as these are critical for achieving consistent and reliable inspection outcomes. The session will also address the proper handling of items to maintain their integrity throughout the inspection process, as well as the importance of maintaining accurate, complete, and traceable inspection records. Participants will gain practical insight into strengthening process control, identifying common gaps, and understanding how these requirements have evolved from ISO/IEC 17020:2012.
