Integrity is tested not when the correct decision is easy, but when pressure, fear, relationships or personal interests make it difficult.
This webinar explores the leadership responsibilities behind impartiality, confidentiality and ethical laboratory practice. Drawing on clauses 4.1 and 4.2 of ISO/IEC 17025 and clauses 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 6.2.1 of ISO 15189, participants will consider how conscious and unconscious influences can affect judgement, how confidential information must be protected and how everyday decisions can strengthen or compromise trust. Using the LEAD Laboratory Leadership Model, we will examine personal courage, peer influence, organisational safeguards and the behaviours needed to protect integrity consistently. Participants will also complete a LEAD Laboratory Pulse Assessment to identify strengths, vulnerabilities and practical opportunities for improvement within their laboratory.
